Ride Category: Loop

Ride Type Ratio: 50% gravel road, 50% singletrack

Ride Distance: 19 miles

Ride Time: 3 to 4.5 hours

Trailhead Directions: Take exit 104 off I-5 to Highway 101. Take Highway
101 to Highway #8 West to Highway #12 South at Elma. Take Highway #12
to Porter and take a left onto Porter Creek Road to C-1100. Go straight with
a trend to the left at the next four way intersection onto B-Line and down into
Porter Creek campground. There is a large parking area on the right next to
the river about 150 yards into the campground.

Route Description: Take B-Line to B-1000 to the right, continue to the
intersection with B-1300, stay right on B-1000 until you get to C-4000. At
C-4000 intersection turn left onto Trail #30, continue to the intersection with
Molly Porter #3 and go left. Take Molly Porter #3 to the intersection with
North Rim Trail, turn left. About a mile down on the left you will come out
onto B-Line, go right a hundred yards or so to where you parked.

Ride Summary: The climb up on the road is steady, there are a couple fairly
steep sections. The climb never ends, fun. The descent down Molly Porter #3
is long. As usual it is a Capitol Forest downhill, so expect traverses, short
climbs and "non-downhill" trending terrain. The descent is a mixed bag of
bermed and banked perfect smoothness and fast rocky technical sections that
rip. You remain in forest with the exception of one clear cut near the bottom
(as of Fall 04).
