Trailhead Directions: Take exit 104 off I-5 to Highway 101. Take Highway 101 to Highway #8 West to Highway #12 South at Elma. Take Highway #12 to Porter and take a left onto Porter Creek Road to C-1100. Go straight with a trend to the left at the next four way intersection onto B-Line and down into Porter Creek campground. There is a large parking area on the right next to the river about 150 yards into the campground.
Route Description: Head back out B-Line and take a left onto C-1000 for a good climb and then a short descent down to C-line, go left and up C-line for another good climb. About 200 - 300 yards before wedekind the will be a trail on the right, this is Mima Porter #8. Follow this trail (which will turn to road a couple times do to logging) to the next trail intersection just off to the left of the road you will be on, take a right at this intersection of Mima Porter #8 and head down to Porter Creek for a classic "Capitol Fores downhill" (read: descent that includes climbs, traverses and terrain that doesn't feel like a downhill). The terrain is rolling and flowy. Follow the trail down to a "T" road intersection of C-Line and C-1000 where you climbed up. Cross the road and continue on. There is a fast section that was recently clear cut that rips. The trees may be gone, but the speed increased due to better visibility and a more open trail, just not so pretty anymore. Follow the trail down to a stream crossing and stay on Mima Porter #8 at the intersection with Greenline #6. You will come out onto a road (B-Line) go left and you will come to where you parked in a few hundred yards.
Ride Summary: This ride is true "trail ride". It consists of good long climbs, rolling terrain, pristine hemlock forests and fast clear cut descents.
