| Capitol Forest Super D#2 07/21/07 The Straight 30 What would Capitol Forest Super D racing be without some extra excitement? On par for the course for the '07 Capitol Forest Super D race series we had some additional fun out of the gate. Despite booking our permit months in advance DNR started logging the morning of the race, on the Berm Basher course. With a last minute course change we came up with the MOST technical route in Capitol Forest, The Straight 30.... locals know this one well. Straight down from the top on Trail #30. You can't ride a more direct route to the bottom. FAST, ROUGH, TECHNICAL, BERMED....this is the fastest and most technical route possible here. With a lean towards bike handling skills this race was all about cajone's and proper bike set up in the rough stuff. Not wanting to show our entire hand for the first race season we were going to save the Straight 30 course for '08. The loggers conspired in your favor. Christmas came early in '07, The Straight 30 was served on a platter for all, a year ahead of schedule. Eat your heart out. Bang your head. Rock and roll all night, and party every day. Love your neighbor. The next race, Super D #3: The Sooper Classik has a feel that is very similar to The Straight 30. This one of the top 3 descents in Cap. The series titles are up in the air still for most classes, and the hotly contested KING title chasers Fanatik speed demon John Pitton and Oly hard man Bernie Miller of gl6 Racing are all tied up at 236 points each, and they are both hungry for the belt buckle....anyone could take it. See you all on Aug 18 for Super D #3: The Sooper Classik The Straight 30: The You Tube Video |
