| Capitol Forest Super D#3 08/18/07 The Sooper Classik And what a classic it was.............. Probably the most buffed and the fastest course of the '07 Capitol Forest Super D series this was an excellent closer for the season. With no rain for most of the day almost all competitors were finally able to sample one of the courses under dry conditions. But what would the Capitol Forest Super D series be without some rain????? The last 12 or so racers coming down the mountain were able to find out.....when the rain came down for a brief shower. This didn't stop their smiles. Awards for the series were handed out and the hard fought KING and QUEEN belt buckles and titles were awarded. And the winners are? After trading podium positions with Fanatik Racing's super d ass kicker John Pitton throughout the series Bernie Miller of the Capitol Forest based race team gl6 Racing/Joy Ride Bikes took John in the end by mere seconds. This was a hard fought title battle that John and Bernie both equally deserve, but there can only be one Capitol Forest KING of The Mountain for 07'. Joy Mutoli of the fastest NW women's race team Speedy Beaver Racing piled up the most female category points for the season and proudly earned the title of '07 Capitol Forest QUEEN of The Mountain. Good job you two, as well as everyone who battled it out for their own super d class ranking this season. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the race series. We generated lots of new volunteers for Friends of Capitol Forest as well as raised some dough for the cause as well. Whether you came to a work party or paid an entry fee you supported our mission, making Capitol Forest a better place to ride. |
