| Burn The Winter Coat Weekend Capitol Forest Washington, March 15 and 16 2008 What a weekend. FOCF enters its second season of race hosting in Capitol Forest. We learned from last year what worked well and what we could improve on. We felt good about last year's events and now even better about this year's. Being driven by the number one priority of putting on quality events first has helped us keep our priorities in check, and the racer's experience at the fore front. This is a good year for mountain bike racing in the NW. The regional race season was kicked off early by the mini XC series between Seatac and Lake Sawyer. BuDu Racing connected with the down to earth folks at Black Diamond bikes and the right people in Seatac to offer a fun and well grounded lung busting kick off. The respected professionals at Fluid Ride and their partners have stepped in to offer regional (and beyond) gravity racers what will surely turn out to be the best gravity racing series Washington and Northern Oregon have seen. These races and many more... Who cares about the economy, politics or anything else for that matter.....lets go racing. XC Climbing? Yes. Technical descending? Yes. All single track, all the time? Yes. Punishment only a lung busting XC maniac could appreciate? Yes. Original recipe Cross Country Racing returns to Capitol Forest! SD A best of two runs on the lower two thirds of the course provided plenty of gravity for everyone (and more than enough for some). Wet, rooty, rocky and slippery, gravity met aerobic met anaerobic. Super Downhill Racing. AM Gravity and lung domination. The battle rages on. Who is the most well rounded rider in Capitol Forest for 2008? Come back in September to find out....KING and QUEEN 2008. Thanks to the many hard working volunteers and the absolutely top shelf racers this weekend for making this the best weekend of mountain bike racing in Capitol Forest yet........see you on September 6&7 for The Grand Finale Weekend!!!
